What's Hot and how to keep it Cool. (See what I did there? haha)

Check out this dilemma. It's mid-November. Your closet is full of coats, sweaters, long sleeves, scarves, hats, whatever your idea of keeping warm or preparing for the cold seasons to come is. Then you wake up one morning and look at the 10-day forecast and it turns out its going to be 60 degrees+ with a lot of sun shine. Your closet says 50 degrees and under, but a chance to spend the day in the sun seems too good to pass up. The question is; What the hell do you wear? You don't want to over dress in the sun and sweat like you've just given birth. But then again, you still wanna be fashion savvy enough and give your self the autumn feel to whatever you wear.

I took the time to walk around the city a bit and take some low quality pictures to see how my fellow New Yorkers were holding up and what method they decided to go with to be autumn-fashionable, but keeping it cool with some short sleeves, skirts and shorts.

A few of the common things I saw through the day was:
  • Scarves - Scarves are your traditional accessory to keep yourself warm. Regardless of short sleeves or a long coat, wearing a scarf will let people know that you've prepared for the cold seasons, but also know how to play out a hot day with your sense in fashion.
  • Hats - Be it a Beret, a beanie, fedora, ski cap, etc Hats are another must-have accessory for the colder seasons, but whose to say that you can't rock it with some shorts and slippers?
  • The colors: Olive, Beige, Brown, Black, Gray- Nothing says Autumn like a palette of those colors and different hues and tones of the same as well. If you keep your color selections versatile, especially some accessories, regardless of what other articles you are wearing, the colors will let the public know that you've got good taste, regardless of season and weather.
  • Shades - Yeap, Shades are something you can rock all year long. If you decide to pair your shades with any of the accessories I've mentioned so far, it'll give you a very adaptive appearance. For instance: The Beige hand knitted wool scarf says Fall. The Olive Beret says Fall but keeping it light and then you throw on some shades and BAM! "I know it's fall, but it's also hot as hell. I'm trendy, stylish and I have common sense to keep my eyes hidden from direct sun light"

In the mix I also noticed some leather and fur, but we'll get into that next week since I am hoping the temperature will drop some.

Anyways, in conclusion: Scarf, Hat, colors mentioned above and some shades should keep you nice and fresh for a welcoming, warm autumn day.
